Bay Island Tours to Tortuga Island
This Island is located 12 nautical miles from Puntarenas. Known by locals as “Tolinga”, the island consists of approximately 120 hectares and includes forests and beaches. In addition, La Isla Tortuga has also been awarded the Ecological Blue Flag for more than five years; This award is given to beaches free of pollution in Costa Rica. Therefore, it is not surprising that here the water is crystal clear and ideal for swimming.
The tour begins with a ground transportation to Puntarenas from San José, Jacó, Guanacaste, and other parts of the country. While you are on the bus, you will be served a breakfast snack. A bilingual guide will accompany you throughout the trip.
Tortuga Island Tour in Costa Rica
Once you arrive in Puntarenas, you will start your trip on a catamaran or a yacht, and navigate the Gulf of Nicoya to Turtle Island. This trip takes about an hour and a half. While you are in the boat, you will enjoy live music and snacks, including tropical fruits and ceviche.
You will participate in many activities on the island, paying an additional fee directly to the tour provider once you arrive on the island. You could take a glass bottom kayak or a water bicycle, or take the snorkeling equipment and try to observe the ocean floor in the ocean (keep in mind that some of these activities will require an extra fee). I could participate in beach volleyball games, as well as enjoy relaxing walks around the island. Of course, you can also simply relax on the beach and let the beautiful views take over. Lunch will be served on the island. This includes a salad-style appetizer and a main dish of grilled fish and chicken, rice and sautéed vegetables. In addition, lunch could also be served with white wine and a delicious dessert.
The Tour will start from Turtle Island at 4:00 p, m. and will return to Puntarenas at 6:00 p.m. The trip back to San José usually takes another two and a half hours. Travel times to other destinations will vary depending on where you are going.
